Mervil M. Lineweaver, 60, of Route 2, Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, March 1, 1989 at the Georgetown University Hospital.

Born August 25, 1928, in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Allen and Bessie Fredman Lineweaver.

He retired after 23 years from the West Union Telegraph Co; had formerly served in the U.S. Army; and attended the Wayside Chapel.

Surviving are his wife, Hattie Maconaughey Lineweaver, at home, two sons, Donald L. Lineweaver of Salisbury, Md. And Ricky L. Lineweaver of Fort Hood, Texas; one sister, Velda Spielman of Berkeley Springs; two brothers, Orbra Lineweaver of Berkeley Springs and Paul Lineweaver of Chambersburg, Pa; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs with the Rev. Hennis Fox officiating. Burial was in the Greenway Cemetery.
