James A. Deem, 79, of Girta, Ritchie County, died Friday, Feb. 3, at 8:20 p.m. He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late Jeremiah and Nancy Deem and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sue Lee Deem. Also surviving are two sons, E.H. Deem of Middletown, O., James E. Deem of Girta, one brother, Harry Deem of Fairmont and a half-sister, Mrs. Nora Newbrough of Clarksburg. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Cisco Methodist church, the Rev. Ed Hutchinson officiating. Burial was made in the Lewis Cemetery, Pomroy Funeral Home in charge.
