He was a native of Newton Co., born March 9, 1877. His parents were the late Mr. & Mrs. David Ritchie. He was a farmer, resided in the Bethel Comm. & belonged to the Bethel Bapt. Church. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Laura Ritchie-Newton; 4 daus: Mrs. Calvin Baucum-Newton, Miss Mary Ritchie-Meridian, Mrs. Myrtle Wiggins-Rome, GA & Mrs. Vallie Davidson-Newton; son: Thomas Ritchie-Newton; bro: J. T. Ritchie-Canton; sis: Mrs. Clarence Chapman-Newton. 18 gch & 10 great-gch. The funeral was conducted at the Bethel Bapt. Ch. at 2 pm Tues, Mar. 18 with burial in the church cemetery.
