Rose Hill, KS, July 5 - Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Church of Christ for Arthur Otto Higgins, 82, who died today at his home in Rose Hill.

Elder Eugene Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Hilyard Funeral Home of Douglass, KS, in charge.

Mr. Higgins was born November 27, 1871, near Atlanta, KS. He served the communities of Gordon, Galva, and Rose Hill during his 40 years as a Santa Fe Railroad agent in Kansas. He was a member of Rose Hill Church of Christ and Douglass Masonic Lodge.

His marriage to Lucy Haskell took place December 13, 1897. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with 11 couples of Rose Hill Community in January 1952.

Survivors in addition to the widow are 2 daughters, Mrs. George Pease, Des Moines, IA; and Mrs. O.E. Cummings, Augusta, KS; one son, Harold Wiggins, Wichita; 4 brothers, Clifton R. and James, Atlanta; Pleasant C., Wichita; Everett W. Tonkawa, OK; 3 sisters, Mrs. George Fuller, Tonkawa, OK; Mrs. Albert Eitel, Macksville, KS; and Mrs. Alfred Brown, Cambridge, KS; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
