Montpelier--Richard H. Brown, age 75, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1992 in St. Luke's Hospital in Boise. He was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Brady, Nebraska, the son of the late Earl B. and Maude West Brown. As a young child, his family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where he attended schools. Later he attended the University of Portland. He married Anna Elizabeth Miller in Lewiston, and to that union was born a daughter, Nancy, and a son, Marshall. He later married Thama Pugmire Brown in Boise in 1975. He was a mechanical engineer, known throughout the world for his outstanding industrial work in fire pump installation. He is survived by his wife, of Boise; son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Mary Brown of New Canaan, Conn., and two grandsons, Greg and Casey Brown, both of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bill Givens of Portland, Ore., and two grand-daughters, Marcia Emery of Salem, Ore., and Elizabeth Christensen, and daughter, Betsy of Seattle, Wash; one brother, Earl W. Brown of Lewiston, Idaho; one sister Mrs. Kenneth (Olive) Staats of Edmonds, Wash; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rowland of Montpelier, Gordon and Shirley Salvesen of Downey, Idaho, Ross and Ruby Larsen of Ririe, Idaho, and DeEsta and Gene Rousey of Tacoma, Wash; four stepsons, Reed and Steve Pugmire, both of Boise, Terry Pugmire of Meridian, and Rex K. Pugmire of Pocatello; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one uncle, Loren Blanchard of Boise, He was preceded in death by one brother, Lt. Col. Robert Brown, and one sister, Audrey McGoverns. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel in Montpelier, where friends may call that day for one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
