David was born to Thomas Jefferson Rial and Ida Mae (Gordon) Rial. He was married to Dorothy Mae Deal on Aug. 9, 1957.
She survives, along with one sister, Ann (James) Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
David was a Korean War Army veteran.
He taught science at East Peoria Community High School for 36 years, retiring in 1992.
