Graveside funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in the West Side District Cemetery for Nobie Abney, 74 .
Mr. Abney was born in Twelve Mile Prairie, Oklahoma on November 5, 1909 and died at the local Taft hospital on Monday.
Mr. Abney first came to the West Side in 1938 and moved to Coalinga in 1950. He returned to Taft in 1964. Mr. Abney was employed for over 30 years as an auto mechanic. Mr. Abney was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Abney is preceded in death by a son James David Abney in 1960. His survivors include his wife, Iva Abney, his sons, his daughter, his mother, Sarah Abney of Taft, his brothers, his sisters, his 13 grandchildren and his 22 great grandchildren.
