John B. May, aged 78 years, a farmer of DeKalb county, died at 11:30 o'clock Friday morning at Hope hospital following an illness of five weeks due to paralysis. He came to Fort Wayne last fall to visit with his sister, Mrs. Harriet Hobson, and while here took sick.

He was a member of the Christian church at Hamilton and of the G.A.R. post. He served as a member of the Ninety-sixth regiment of Ohio volunteer infantry. Besides the sister he is survived by four sons-James, of Hillsdale; John, of Pierceton; Ora, of Pennsylvania; Carroll, of Coldwater; two daughters, Mrs. Hattie Hines, of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Ollie Smith, of Coldwater; one step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Crow, of Hamilton; one brother, James May, of Auburn.
