Laverne, 69, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 10, 2010, in the Hilltop Nursing Center. She was born on August 20, 1940 in Lecompte to the union of Stross Young and Leona McElwee Young. She was a homehealth aide and a Dietary Manager for many years, a Baptist by faith and a 1958 graduate of Lecompte High School.
Her parents, Stross and Leona Young, husband, Wilford Rogers, two sons, Randy Rogers, and Kelly Rogers, and one sister, Audrey Taylor precedes her in death.
She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, one son, Keith Rogers and wife, Debbie of Pineville; one daughter-in-law, Tina Rogers of Prospect; four grandsons, Brian Rogers, Chris Rogers, Kelly Rogers, and Kevin Rogers; one great granddaughter, Jordayne Rogers; one sister, Johnnie Dipple of Alexandria, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Keith Rogers, Brian Rogers, Chris Rogers, Kelly Rogers, Kevin Rogers, and Johnnie Rogers.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 8 a.m. until time of service in the chapel.
