Orville W. Moore of Linwood, Michigan,
Formerly of East Tawas, Michigan.
Mr. Moore 95 years beloved husband, Father, grandfather and friend passed away Thursday February 10, 2011 at Linwood Residence following a lingering illness.
He was born in Linwood on October 21, 1915 to the late Joseph D. & Anna (Edsell) Moore. Orville was a graduate of Bay City Central and Michigan State University with a B.S. Degree in Forestry and a M.S. in Soil Science and was an Industrial Forester and Consultant Agronomist. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 5 th Air Force from December 1939 to September 1945, serving 2 years in S. W. Pacific Theatre, Northern Territory of Australia and Papua, New Guinea. He married the former Lois Banner on March 15, 1941. She preceded him in death in 1992. He married the former Zelda Sugden-Moore on July 2, 1994. She survives him. Orville was an avid hunter. Zelda and he enjoyed traveling fulfilling their life long dream in 1997 spending several weeks in Alaska. He was a member of Alabaster Bible Church.

In addition to his wife he leaves a son C. Douglas (Adele) Moore, a foster son Ed (Myra) Bennett; 2 grand daughters, 1 grand son and a great grand son; step-children Arlene VanTol and David Moore; numerous step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Mark in 1965, a daughter Marian in 1984, a brother Homer Moore in 2006 and a step-son Tom Moore.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 14, 2011 at 2 pm from the Rivertown Funeral Chapel Spring & Huron, Kawkawlin, Michigan with Pastor Andy Price presiding with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Bay County Veteran Council will conduct military honors at the funeral chapel on Monday. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Monday from 11 am until time of services. The family would like to extend a Thank you to the Staff at Linwood Residence, Sue from Total Home Care and Dr. Raza for the care and comfort given to Orville and the family. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alabaster Bible Church.
