Margaret E. Barwiler, 94, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, of heart failure, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 12, 1910, in Wells County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Rothut) Barwiler and was the only survivor of ten children.
In Wells County, she attended Columbia School, Murray School, and then graduated from Lancaster Central High School, in 1928.
She had many hobbies including the raising of Labrador dogs, quilting, and traveling throughout the United States and Canada.
Survivors include nieces, Joanne Garver of Tucson, Ariz., whom she raised, Regina Decoursey, Roserita Sovine and Ramona Harber, all of Fort Wayne, and Tracy Posey of New Haven; and nephews, Robert Barwiler of New Haven, Donny Kastner of Fort Wayne, Walter Hartman of Peoria, Ariz. and David Hartman of Rochester, Minn.
Memorial Mass of Resurrection is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church, East State at Randallia, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Thomas Shoemaker officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
