Obituary on funeral home web site: Williemaye Stone Hall passed peacefully from this life on October 4 at the age of 97 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She was born at the home of her grandmother in Jolly Street, South Carolina, and was the eldest daughter of Tullie Ellis Stone and Daisy Margaret Kinard Stone of Pomaria, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband James DeLeon Hall, by her parents, and by all her sisters and brother: Lucile Epting of Prosperity; Ruth Boland of Pomaria; Sarah Shealy of Little Mountain; Helen Byrd of Columbia; and Joel E. Stone of Cheraw, all in South Carolina. She is survived by her daughter, June Hall McCash, her son-in-law Richard Douglas Gleaves Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tn., two grandsons, Michael Hall Martin (and his wife Jill Reifschneider) and Christopher Brenden Martin (and his wife Leah Jo-Anne Martin), and four great-grandsons, Eric, Noah, Nicholas, and Gabriel Martin. In addition she has seven step-grandchildren Rodney McCash (DeLynn), Pam McCash, Vicki Brennan (Jack), Doug Gleaves (Sandy), Stephanie Poteete (Terry), Andy Gleaves (Nancy) and Beth Smith (Clay), and eleven step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marie Bell of Buckhead, Georgia. She attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Murfreesboro but remained a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pomaria. A 1928 graduate of Newberry College, she later trained as a nurse at Newberry County Hospital in South Carolina. She was a wonderful and beloved wife and mother, and she was "Grandma" to many, both inside and outside her immediate family. Her superb recipes, especially her chocolate chip cookies, will long be cherished by those who loved her. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pomaria, S.C. followed by a celebration of her life at the Chapin home of her nephew, James C. Metts, on Lake Murray, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Hall Martin, Christopher Brenden Martin, step-grandson, Doug Gleaves, and nephews, James C. Metts, Tullie Shealy, Billy Boland, Johnny Byrd, and Paul Ellis Stone. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Stones River Manor of Murfreesboro or Hospice of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge in Murfreesboro. McSwain-Evans Funeral Home is in charge in Newberry, SC.
