NIAGARA FALLS — Michael "Clark" Sanoian, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on June 17, 1927, the son of the late Hagop "Jack" and Haiganoush "Helen" (Sarkissian) Sanoian.

Mr. Sanoian graduated from Trott Vocational High School and joined the Merchant Marines when he was 17 years old. While he was in the Merchant Marines he served with the US Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, then returned to Merchant Marines, until retiring in 1980. In November of 1988, he received the Admiral of the Ocean Sea Award for his dedicated service, with the Merchant Marines. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sanoian is survived by two brothers, Sarkee R. (Patricia) Sanoian and his family who were his care givers and Corrigan Sanoian, both of Lewiston, NY. He was the brother of the late Reuben Sanoian; and uncle of the late Matthew R. Sanoian.
