Thomas Jefferson McEuen was born October 5, 1827 on Muddy Creek, Madison County, Kentucky and died June 5, 1885 in Earlington, Hopkins Co., Ky; married first, Amelia Rash, and married second, Elizabeth R. McGary. Thomas Jefferson McEuen was a major stock holder in St. Bernard Coal Co., Earlington, Hopkins Co., Ky. and was in charge of the Company Store there. He had three children who died in their youth. His will probated in Hopkins Co., Ky. names his wife, Bettie, his brothers and sisters and their heirs. He is buried in Grapevine Cemetery, Madisonville, Hopkins Co., Ky., as are his wifes. His brother, William Williams McEuen was, who settled in Sacramento, McLean Co., Ky. and became a minister.
I Thos J. McEwen of the town of Earlington County of Hopkins and State of Kentucky do make and publish this my last Will and testament.
1st It is my will that all my just debts be paid.
2nd I give to the widow and heirs of E.W. McEwen (50) fifty shares of stock of St Benard Coal Co.
3rd I give to the widow and heirs of O.W. McEwen (50) fifty shares of stock of St Benard Coal Co.
4th I give to the heirs of Charlotte Ashby (50) fifty shares of stock of St Benard Coal Co.
5th I give to Henry C. McEwen (50) fifty shares of the stock of the St Benard Coal Co.
6th I give to the widow and heirs of W.W. McEwen (50) fifty shares of the stock of the St Benard Coal Co.
7th I give to B.F. McEwen (50) fifty shares of the stock of the St Benard Coal Co.
8th I give to Felix A. McEwen (50) fifty shares of the stock of the St Benard Coal Co.
9th I give to Mary J. McEwen (50) fifty shares of the stock of the St Benard Coal Co.
10th I give to my dearly beloved wife E.R. McEwen all the remainder of my estate of whatever description both personal & Real and I hereby appoint the said E.R. McEwen Executrix of this my last will & testament.

Memoranda My real Estate consists
1st The lots and Brick dwelling where I now reside.
2nd The lot where Tom Howards butcher shop now stands.
3rd 12 acres of ground near St Charles.

5th 130 acres of land near Petersburg known as the Rover land.
6th 1/2 the Ice house lots in Earlington.

I Jno T Adams Clerk of Hopkins County Court do certify that the foregoing Will of Thos. J McEwen decd was this day produced in open Court and proven by the oaths of Geo C Atkilnson and Barton Crutchfield the two subscribing witnesses thereto to be the last will and testament of the said decedent. Whereupon the same and this my Certificate have been recorded in my office as ordered this the 13th day of June 1885.
