Paul Gregory Dodson, 92, of Gridley died at 3 a.m. Friday (March 18, 2011) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, El Paso.

Cremation rites will be accorded, with a private family graveside service at Gridley Cemetery at a later date. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Manor of El Paso and GEMS or the fire department of Gridley.

He was born July 12, 1918, in Gridley, the son of Charles and Ivy Gregory Dodson. He married Marie D. Houck on Aug. 20, 1941, in the Presbyterian Parsonage in Greybull, Wyo., with Clarence and Dorothy Houck as attendants.

His wife survives, along with one son-in-law, Robert W. Wells, Lexington; one grandson, Lance W. (Martha) Wells, Gridley; one granddaughter, Lisa L. (Ben) Clawson, Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald G. Dodson; one daughter, Loretta M. Wells; two sisters, Dorothy Stewart and Myrtle Richter; and their husbands, Charles Stewart and Bill Richter; one brother, Earl Dodson; and his wife, Irene Dodson.

He was a farmer and a truck driver all of his life, retiring from farming in 1981 and trucking in 1985. He moved to town in Gridley in 1987. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa who enjoyed his family and will be greatly missed.
