Thomas Hugh Holloway
Funeral services fro Thomas Hugh Holloway, 72, retired tobacconist of the Oak Grove School community, will be held this morning at 11 o'clock at the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The Rev. Frank Wier, pastor of the Fletchers Chapel Methodist Church, and the Rev. Fred Lipe, pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church, will conduct the services.
Active pallbearers will be Otho Holloway, James Hugh Holloway, William Hicks Holloway, William Norwood Hicks, Ralph Daniel, Vernon Sherron, Edward Fairfield and Harold Bowles.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Oak Grove Ruritan Club and K. E. Stallings, Frank Nichols, S. H. Chandler, B ob Glenn, J. W. Neal, R.V. Alford, J. B. Nichols, Fred Fletcher, Willie Currin, L. M. Currin, O. B. Nichols, John Holder, Bill Weatherly and W. A. Venable.
Mr. Holloway died at his home late Tuesday afternoon following several months' illness. He was born in Durham County the son of James Hugh Holloway and Martha Cary Holloway. He was educated in the schools of Durham County and had been actively engaged in the tobacco industry and farming until he retired two years ago.
He was a member of the Fletchers Chapel Methodist Church, had served on the board of stewards and held other places of responsibility in the church. He was also a member of the Oak Grove Ruritan Club.
Survivors are his wife, the former Miss Vienna Freeman of Durham County; four daughters, Miss Oberia Holloway of the home, Mrs. Cleo H. Stickey of Durham, Mrs. Inez Batts of Alexandria, Va., and Mrs. Estelle H. Dunn of Pinetops; two sons, W. Hugh Holloway of Dallas, Texas, and William L. Holloway of Durham; one sister, Mrs. Ora H. Hicks; and one brother, J. Carson Holloway, both of Durham County; and seven grandchildren.
