Trimbelle- Franklin Otis of our oldest residents, died at one o'clock Monday morning and was buried on Tuesday. The funeral was the largest attended we have Thin Trimbelle. Mr. Otis was nearly 88 years old and had resided here nearly 40 years.

TRIMBELLE
The town was organized in the spring of 1855. The first town-meeting was held at the house of Franklin Otis, Esq., April 5th. The poll list contains the following names in the order in which they are given: 1st Franklin Otis, "Uncle Frank" was born in Connecticut, but left there in infancy, living successively in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In May, 1853, he landed at Prescott , remaining there until November 1854 when he removed to Trimbelle. Bu t few citizens of the county have been so generally and so favorably known. Travelers for many years ad until quite recently, were entertained at his home, which was always made more than pleasant by the courteousness and intelligence of the host. Mr. Otis is still living but in feeble health, being 72 years old. Mrs. Otis died some more than a year ago.
