RIPON – A Ripon resident the past 45 years and a seamstress in the city for many years, Mrs. Ethel Hoffman, 68, of 204 Eureka St., Ripon died at 1:50 a.m. Monday at the Parkview Nursing Home, Ripon, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Hoffman was born in Oakfield Aug. 17, 1896, the daughter of Daniel and Minnie Baldwin Hitchcock, and married Walter Hoffman. She lived in Oakfield and Marshfield before coming to this city.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and its Women's Society of World Service.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elton Wetzel, Ripon; two sons, Joseph and Henry, both of Ripon; one sister, Mrs. George Kellar, Oakfield, and nine grandchildren
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, with the Rev. Stanley Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Oakfield Cemetery, Oakfield.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Butzin Funeral Home, Ripon, until 11 a.m. Thursday, then at the church until time of services.
