Married to John Randolph Pool on Nov. 30, 1893.

(Pawnee Republican, Mar. 1, 1945.)

MRS. ADA E. POOL

Ada E. Albright, daughter of Daniel and Lavina Albright, was born June 10, 1861, near Armington, Tazwell county, Ill. During her childhood days she received her education at the district school of the neighborhood and later attended college at Normal and Eureka, Ill. While still a young girl she became a member of the Christian church at Armington.

She came to Nebraska when a young woman, when the family moved from Illinois and settled on a farm southeast of Pawnee City.

Nov 30, 1893, she was united in marriage to J. R. Pool of Pawnee City, who will be remembered as the builder of the Pawnee City "stand pipe" which still is in active use as a reservoir for the city water system, To this union was born one child, Warren, born at Fort Worth, Texas.

For a number of years they lived in various sections of the south, until her husband's death in 1916, at which time she returned to Pawnee City and resided here for some time, leaving to make her home with her son in Lincoln. She had been with him in Omaha for several months since his removal there, until her death Feb. 22, 1945, at the age of 83 years.

She had outstanding ability as an artist and has left to her surviving relatives a number of her fine paintings in oils, water colors and pastels. She was beloved by all who knew her for her friendliness, cheerful disposition, sympathy for those in distress, and deep loyalty to friends and family. She will be remembered by many residents of this community in her business connections with merchandising firms of Pawnee City. She was associated with C. B. Hitt, C. D. Robinson, Benz & Beebe, and A. B. Edee at various intervals. She also served as an assistant in the county clerk's office before her marriage.

She leaves to mourn her loss her son, Warren R. of Omaha, three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ella McLean of Kansas City and Mrs. J. B. Raper of Pawnee City, besides several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Wherry chapel, in charge of Rev. W. N. Wallis, and interment was in the Pawnee City cemetery.
