Joe Bemont, 63, of 916 South Whittle, Olney, Illinois died at 7:55 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 1990 at the Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Arrangements are being handled by Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Ron Trout will conduct the service. Burial will be held in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation service will be held from 6 pm. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials can be made to the Richland County Heart Association.
Mr. Bemont was born in Richiand County on October 4, 1927 to Dennis and Alda (Lomas) Bemont. He later married Barbara Larkin on September 30, 1989.
Mr. Bemont was retired as a foreman of the Hurn Lumber yard where he had been employed for 20 years.
Mr. Bemont was a member of the Olney Moose Lodge.
Mr. Bemont is survived his wife Barbara, one son, Dr. Larry Bemont, of Lincoln, Illinois, one brother, Neal Bemont, of Olney, two sisters, Virginia Ellison and Betty McDowell, both of Olney, and two sisters-in-law, Kay Bemont, of Olney and Carolyn Bemont, of Florida.
He is also survived by one grandson, Ryan Bemont, and one granddaughter, Leslie Bemont, both of Lincoln, Illinois and one step-grandson, Rick Van Mater, of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bernont was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Robert and one infant daughter.
