Ole Eli Christensen, age 91, of Osnabrock, ND, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Ole E. Christensen was born October 25, 1917 near Osnabrock, ND, the son of the late Albert and Agnes (White) Christensen. He attended schools in Osnabrock Township, Easby Township and Osnabrock. Following his education, he worked on the Albert Johnson Farm near Osnabrock.

He enlisted in the United States Army on February 7 1942. Following his basic training, he spent a year in Hawaii, then five months in Australia. He was then sent into combat in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. He was discharged in 1946 as a Sergeant.

He returned to Osnabrock where he was united in marriage to Marjorie Johnson on June 11, 1947 at Milton, ND. The couple lived in Osnabrock where he owned and operated Cities Service Station and Bulk Station. He started farming in 1954 and farmed until retiring in 1982.

Ole was a member of the Dovre Lutheran Church where he served as Deacon. He was a member of the Town and Country Senior Citizens, the Knights of Pythias Lodge, a 60 year member of the Fismes American Legion Post #164, a 50 year member of the Milton Masonic Lodge #48 AF & AM, and the Eagles Club of Langdon. The couple loved to travel and spent 19 winters in Arizona.

Ole is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Osnabrock, ND; sons: Dale Christensen, Fargo, ND; Albert (Annette) Christensen, Langdon, ND; Randy (Della) Christensen, Hettinger, ND; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Duane, brothers: Fred, Bert, Victor, Willard, Elton and Manley and sisters; Thresa Kelly, Ada Wedwick, Blanche Knutson, Beulah Amoth and an infant sister, Shirley.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Dovre Lutheran Church, Osnabrock, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and a Masonic Service to follow at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at the Union Cemetery of Osnabrock. Military rites will be provided by the Osnabrock American Legion Post #164. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg is in charge of the arrangements.
