George A. Wilson preceded the other members of his family to Texas, arriving in Collin County in 1842 from Tennessee. After serving in the Mexican War he returned to Tennessee and accompanied his parents and family and other settlers to Collin County in 1849. He married Harriet Kincaid. In November, 1867 General J.J. Reynolds appointed him sheriff of Collin County, which office he held until December, 1869. The following children of George A. and Harriett Wilson attended the annual Wilson reunion at Finch Park in McKinney on June 10, 1934: T. Ben, Mrs. W. A. Straughan, George M., Wallace C., Mrs. J. Frank Smith, Mrs. W A Massie, and Mrs. George E. Burrage.
