Charles H. Parsons of Blairs Mills, R.D., died at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 1951, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon where he had been a patient since Tuesday of last week. He was born on September 2, 1870, in Shade Valley, the son of Alexander and Jane (Kissel) Parsons. In 1896 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Waters of Salem. The couple made their first home in Shade Valley where he worked as a woodsman. A short time later they moved to Mount Union where they resided for 14 years, after which time they made their home at Blairs Mills. The deceased attended the Salem United Brethren Church. Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Lolita (Mrs. Russell Parsons) and Gladys (Mrs. Sherman Morrow), both of Mount Union. Three sisters, Mrs. Harry Rothrock and Mrs. William Mason, both of Mount Union, and Mrs. Sadie Brogan of Marlboro, N.Y., along with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, also survive. One son, Clement, preceded his father in death in 1916. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Clark's funeral home in Mount Union with the Rev. Charles F. Miller of the Mapleton United Brethren Church officiating. Interment will be made at Salem. Friends may call at the funeral home.
