1850 census in Iowa enumerated in household of parents and 1870 census enumerated as head of household with wife and children shows name Esquire. Other census records show name as Squire.

From descendant of "Squire" Dinsmore:

"I did inherit several wonderful..... One is a "Jot Pad for a Penny" notepad. The following is in Squire's handwriting...

Squire D. Dinsmore was Born in Vermilion County Indiana on the 10 of December in 1834 and lived till 1855 then moved to Warren County Iowa and there was married to Lucrecy Turner on March the 30 1858 and lived in Iowa till the fall of 1870 then moved to Missouri landed at Mt. Moriah Harrson Co and from this first marriage there was 9 children 5 girls and 4 boys. Wife died March 10 1884 in Mercer Co. Married again to a Sarah Ann Holmes a widow with 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl. Was married on September 13 1885 and lived with her till September the 9 - 1898 when she died in Des Moines Iowa and I have been living with the children ever since up to this date which is April the 4th 1915 Easter Sunday.
I was Coverted in the winter of 1857 in Warren Co Iowa and joined the United Brethen Church in what was then called Franklin Mission. I moved in a neigho Job 14 and 14
