Rhoda Pipes was the daughter of Joseph Pipes (1763-1856) and his wife Hannah. It is believed that Hannah was a member of the Shawnee Indian Tribe, but no proof of this has been found to date.

In 1809, Rhoda married William Harrod, the son of Levi Harrod (1750-1825) and Rachel Mills Harrod(1752-1834).

Rhoda's paternal grandfather, John Pipes, Jr. (1739-1821), is buried in Old Union Cemetery, Boyle County, Kentucky. Find A Grave Memorial # 54554817 and 43676377.
