Harvey L Gardner married Sadie M Finlay on Nov 6 1900 in Seattle WA. He was 29, b in Minnesoata to Reuben and Mary (Smith) Gradner; she was 24, a dress maker, b. in Massachusetts to John Finlay-Mary Brown.

"The son of John Kitch & Elizabeth (Shatto) Gardner, in 1860 he was a miller living in Miller Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 7" tall and had brown hair and brown eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he first enlisted and mustered into federal service in Harrisburg April 20, 1861, as a private with Co. D, 2nd Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company July 26, 1861. He then enlisted in Newport, Perry County, August 20, 1861, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg September 19 as 1st sergeant of Co. H, 47th Pennsylvania Infantry. Wounded at the battle of Pocotaligo Bridge, South Carolina, October 22, 1862, he was hospitalized at Hilton Head, South Carolina. When recovery did not appear likely, he transferred to the Veteran Reserve (Invalid) Corps, but re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer October 19, 1863. Furloughed to date January 2, 1864, he recovered sufficiently to rejoin the 47th Pennsylvania on August 20, 1864, at Fort Jefferson, Key West, Florida. He was promoted to 1st lieutenant October 29, 1864, and to captain February 16, 1865, and honorably discharged with his company December 25, 1865, at Charleston, South Carolina.
He married Mary A. Smith in 1865 and fathered Custis Edward or Edward Everett (b. 10/13/67), Harvey Leroy (b. 08/??/71), and Frank Worth (b. 02/??/78). By 1871, he was living in Minnesota, by 1878 in Wisconsin, and by 1900 was residing in King County, Washington, where he died of arterio-sclerosis."
