Rebecca J. "Becky" Eckard, 88, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of East Freedom, died Thursday morning at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Lingenfelter) Glass. She married Charles R. Eckard on Jan. 23, 1946.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years; a daughter-in-law, Linda (McCaulley) Eckard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas C., on Aug. 28, 2010; a sister, Anna Hale; and seven brothers: Elmer, Albert, John, Fred, Samuel, Charles and Bernard.
Becky formerly was employed by Cove Shoe Co., Martinsburg, and Warnaco. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and crafts.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www.sorgefuneralhome.com), where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011, by ministers Albert Knaggs and Shannon Meyers. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
