Mrs. Benona Harrington
Mrs. Sally Brown (Adams) Harrington, 89, of 203 Division St., widow of Benona Harrington, died at the Adams Nursing Home in Williamstown, Mass., Sunday. Her husband died in 1957.
Born in Shaftsbury, March 30, 1879, she was the daughter of Byron and Deborah (Green) Adams. Her education had been received in Athol, Mass., and the Shaftsbury schools. She and Mr. Harrington were married April 30, 1895 in White Creek, N.Y.
Mrs. Harrington had been employed as a sewing machine operator at the Bell Laundry, E-Z Mills and the Thomson Mfg. Co.
Survivors include three sons, Jesse of Hoosick Falls, Byron and Robert Harrington both of Bennington; two daughters, Mrs. Rupert (Ruth) Montgomery of Cartersville, Ga., and Mrs. Leo (Thelma) Vandale of Bennington; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. A.J. MacDonald, pastor of the Shaftsbury First United Methodist Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Chapel with burial in that cemetery in the spring.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
