Cesna Mayes, 92, of Central City, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:30PM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Mayes was born March 13, 1919 in Cleaton, KY where she was raised. She was a housewife and mother, and member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was a graduate of Bevier-Cleaton High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Mayes in 1991, parents Thomas and Elizabeth Casebier, and brothers W.T. and Earl Casebier.

Survivors include her children, Terrill (Rosemary) Mayes of Charlotte, NC, Jerry (Diane ) Mayes of Owensboro, Beverly (Burley) Phelan of Owensboro, Ralph (Brenda) Mayes of Nashville, TN, and Dr. Freddie (Kay) Mayes of Central City; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be Saturday from 3-7PM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, Central City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
