Delilah Oldham Kelly's parents were Elias Oldham and Mary Ann Greenlee. Both died in Vaiden, MS in 1840 bur Vaiden Cemetery.
Delilah Oldham, the first ancestor in the line who came to this continent was a man named Thomas deGascoigne, who came 1619 to Northumberland Co VA. Getting back into England the line traces back through several of the Norman families to William the Conquerer. Delilah's father, Elias Oldham, was the son of James Oldham and his unknown first wife. Mary Ann Greenlee Oldham was the daughter of Peter Greenlee
Oldham and Deborah Willis.

Eddie Pevehouse who descends from Delilah's brother Peter told me she went up there and saw their graves and James Kelly was not listed in the cemetery.
Robert Kelly and Delilah Oldham were the first couple married in Carroll Co May 25, 1834.

They had the following children: listed on Robert's site
Rob Kelly never mrd but got into some disagreement with Judge BB Walker, shot him and when his case came up he
had disappeared, his whereabouts never found.

William Kelly m Elizabeth Bettie Bennett Day [sis to William Day, who Louisa Kelly mrd].
Bettie had been md to Joseph Bennett who d 1862.
Joseph Bennett's brother or uncle, James Bennett would
be the one who would shoot and kill Wm Day's father
John Day, making his mother, Susan Day a widow.
For some reason, it was then in settling her dec'd
husband estate she took the Cochran name
[Susan Cochran], maybe to disassociate herself with the lawlessness but [she eventually md Pipkin Taylor].
Bettie then md George Rivers after Joseph Bennett died.
She had 1 child by Rivers.
Her marriage to William Kelly would be her 3rd and after his 1870 murder she would m4) A Hendricks.

Henry Kelly m Bettie's half sis, Amanda Taylor
[half sis due to Bettie's mother, Susan,
would marry Amanda's father, Pipkin Taylor].

James mr Catherine Tuton in Gonzales but hard to track.

Tragedy unfortunately struck William and Henry and they were murdered, shot down in cold blood on the
same day with their mother, Delilah witnessing their gruesome demise in 1870. Probably what instigated
this murder plot, in part, was Henry and Wm had shot out the lights at a Circus prior to this and the police were fed up with the Taylor, Kelly and Smothers gang.

Then Frank Kelly mysteriously died 1871 likely
in Kansas, so said, when he took some cows up there to
be put on the rail cars and he fell between them and was killed. So upset Delilah she would not speak of it again.
His sis, Mollie Kelly Taylor Butler, is said to have told her children that much, then covered her face with her hands and sobbed that it was just too terrible and she couldn't stand to talk about it.

Mollie Kelly m1 James Creed Taylor, son of Pitkin Taylor, bro to Creed Taylor. It would be this bunch of Taylor's
and Smothers who would rob the govt wagons for revenge of losing the war and sharing their booty with family and friends far and wide and end in bloodshed.
Mollie Kelly Taylor then m2 Jefferson Butler
[who had first m Martha Ann Smothers, dau of
John Bate Smeathers Sr & Mary Ashby-my ggggrandparents]
and he would be killed by Martha's brother, Johnny Wesley 1889 over disagreement of a wandering cow! But
Smothers was acquitted of the charges.

Louisa Kelly Day and her flock left Dewitt County 1883
were in Grayson Co.

Wiley Kelly one of few Kelly men died of old age
md Rachel Skipworth.

Delilah had held the family together through thick and
thin of the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Sutton-Taylor feud and near annihilation of her family.
What would their lives have been had they stayed in Mississippi?
The name Kelly originally spelled in Old Irish as 'Ceallach' means 'war or contention'.
Prehaps whether in Ireland, SC, MS or Lavaca Co TX,
the Kelly's relentlessly lived out their fates.
Upon her death in 1882 the 771ac in Dewitt Co were still
in tact and her son and grandchildren left made it their home. But in her lifetime she had seen horrid violence shatter her flock and the lawlessness of it all never
gave her peace. It's said she smoked a pipe and who could fault her for taking this one solace time to find some peace in her world of delirium.
Only 3 sons outlived her: Wiley, Emmett and Eugene.
Now all that can be done a hundred years down the road is find the truth, tell it and whisper a sincere
