RICHARD LEE GOETZ, age 75, died on Friday, March 11, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital-Troy in Troy, Michigan. He was born on January 27, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to William Goetz and Lydia Meyfarth Goetz.
He was a resident of Troy, Michigan.

Richard Goetz earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Michigan State University.

He retired as a Customer Service Director with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan in 1988 after 27 years. He will be remembered there for his SNICKER BARS gift.

Mr. Goetz organized his own golf league of retirees called "The Pitiful Golfers". This league was for fun only - no one was interested in their score, even if they kept score!

He loved his Spartans and his Detroit Tigers. He was just thrilled last year when MSU played the final four games at Ford Field.

Military: Mr. Goetz was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army (September 8, 1958 - September 7, 1964), honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.
