COLESBURG, Iowa — SFC David R. Boudreau, 70, of Colesburg, Iowa, died at the Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. He was born on March 3, 1941, in Boston, Mass., the son of Francois and Gladys (Stroba) Boudreau. He was raised and educated in the Boston area.
David enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Army until 1978, when he was partially disabled. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam, one tour in Korea and also in Germany. After his military service was complete, he resided in Oklahoma and Minnesota.
On Feb. 20, 1988, he was united in marriage to Denise Stocks in Colesburg. Together they lived in Pipestone and Brainerd, Minn., until 2002 they moved to Colesburg.
David was a gentleman farmer, liked horses, country music and his classic cars.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Boudreau of Colesburg, Iowa; one son, Michael (Kim) Boudreau, of Edmond, Okla.; one granddaughter, Brandi Boudreau; his two sisters, Marjorie Milne, of Connecticut, and Shirley (Stewart) Bliss, of Denver, Colo.; and two brothers-in-law, Les Kallsen, of Ihlen, Minn., and Bob Amirault, of Maine.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn; and sisters, Jeannette Boudreau, Vivenne Damon, Phyllis Amirault and Lany Kallsen.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood. Officiating: The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, and after 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.
Military rites: Provided at the funeral home.
Interment: Ihlen Community Cemetery, Ihlen, Minn.
