Rev. Nathan VanHoose, 70, died Thursday, December 7, at his Lowmansville residence after an extended illness. Son of James and Sarah Music VanHoose, he was born February 22, 1908, in Johnson County. He was a resident of Lowmansville, a retired miner and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Okie Music VanHoose; 5 sons, James, Ernest, Don, Bob and Mike all of Lowmansville; 2 daughters, Opal Williams of West Liberty and Rachel Ketchia of Wisconsin; 5 brothers and sisters, Willie VanHoose of Mt. Pleasant, OH, Lincoln VanHoose of Asheville, KY, Verna VanHoose of Wheelersburg, OH, Lydia Castel and Mae Gilkerson of Lowmansville; 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 10, in Mouth of Rush Freewill Baptist Church at Nippa, with James Kelly Caudill and Ellis Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Sycamore Cemetery at Nippa with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
