William Henry Chadwick was born February 20, 1929 to Joy Ellsworth and Saxie Luella (Church) Chadwick in Hyde, Colorado. He passed away on March 11, 2010 at the Yuma District Hospital at the age of 81.

On June 6, 1954 he married Doris Louise Walker in Otis, Colorado and to the union eight children were born.

Bill proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1950 until 1954. He was later employed by Washington County Road Department and was an active member of the VFW until the end.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Peggy; brother, Ellsworth Chadwick; his parents Joy and Saxie Chadwick and brothers-in-law, Andrew Hendrix, Dean Walker and Delmer Eikenberg.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of fifty-five years, Doris; daughter, Susan Gross and husband, Floyd; son, Rick Chadwick and wife, Amy; son, Leland Chadwick and wife, Kay; daughter, Sandy Borden and husband, Royce; son, Jeff Chadwick and wife, Dani; son-in-law, Chris Wiebers; daughter, Pam; daughter, Ronda Constable and husband, Ray along with seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Hendrix and Mary Jean Fincher; brother, Lowell Chadwick and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Otis, Colorado with Randall Feather officiating. Interment followed at the Otis Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home of Yuma directed the service.
