WILLISTON - Allan M. Lefebvre, 85, of Williston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Fletcher Allen Hospital.
Allan was born on July 30, 1925 in Worcester, Mass. to Archibald and Muriel (Goff) Lefebvre.
Allan served in the United States Navy in WWII aboard the battleship USS New York BB 34 and participated in the battles at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After his military service, he became a "jack of all trades". He received his pilot's license, became a butcher for both the A&P and IGA stores, built his own house, owned and operated his own wood turning business in Ashburnham, Mass. and worked in construction for many years. Allan then worked for the Fitchburg, Mass. School Dept. and the Burlington School Dept. as a maintenance supervisor. He also worked for the Chittenden Bank as a maintenance supervisor, before retiring in 1990. Not to be sidelined, Allan then worked security on armored trucks and for various security companies.
Allan is survived by his wife, Carol Lefebvre of Williston, sons Donald Lefebvre and his wife Nancy of Malta, N.Y., Donald Baker and his wife Emilie of Essex Junction, Scott Baker and his wife Sherry of Essex Junction, grandchildren Jason and Ashley Lefebvre of Malta, N.Y. and Miranda, Mitchell, Jackson, Hannah and Josh Baker of Essex Junction and his brother Ronald Lefebvre of Largo, Fla.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are in care of Stephen C. Gregory & Son.
