Henry King Dies; Services Tomorrow

Henry W. King, 80, died Tuesday in Childress General Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Untied Methodist Church with the Rev. James Price, pastor, the Rev. R.H. Knight, retired Methodist minister and the Rev. Joe S. All, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery under direction of Newberry Funeral Home.

Mrs. King was born Aug. 11, 18997, in Childress County and was a son of pioneer settlers. the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Tillman King. He was married to Irene Baker July 22, 1922, in Childress, and was employed by Burlington Railroad 39 years. At the time of his retirement in 1954, he was car inspector.

He was a 50-year member of all local Masonic orders, including the Childress Masonic Lodge 695, the Childress Chapter and Council of Knights Templar, Order of the Eastern Star and Maskat Shrine Temple of Wichita Falls. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Burlington Club, Shrine Club and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.

Survivors include his widow, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Deane Dodge, Dr. J.J. Westenburg, Dr. Jack Fox, Jimmy Harman, Clinton McGhee, Buddy Wilcoxson, Alton Landrum and Littleton Havins.
