A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 3 o'clock at The First Baptist Church of Ravenel Cemetery. Family and friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: American Diabetes Association, 119 Eastwood Circle, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
Ernie was born December 26, 1941, in Charleston, son of the late Achilles Victor Roberge and Bessie Mae Friendly Roberge.
He was a graduate of St. Paul's High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a self employed salesman who enjoyed sports, fishing, going to flea markets and auctions.
Surviving are one son: Ernie Roberge and his wife Josie of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, five grandchildren: Stephen Roberge of Fayetteville, NC, Angel Jones of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Beth Roberge of Fayetteville, NC, Bo Jones of Mineral Bluff, GA and DeAnna Jones of Summerville, two sisters: Laura Futch and her husband Lally of Yonges Island and Ethel Jourdain of James Island, one sister-in-law: Betty Breaker Sanders of Charleston, a special niece: Yvonne B. Bullock of Charleston and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother: William Thurman Breaker.
