ST. LOUIS MARINE KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT IN CHINA
Marine Pfc. Jacob E. Thomann of St. Louis died Tuesday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Tientsin, China, where he was stationed. Further details were not given in a Navy Department telegram to his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Thomann, Route 1, Florissant.
Thomann, who was 22 years old, enlisted in the Marine Corps 11 months ago, and had been overseas since last January. He wrote three weeks ago that he expected to be sent home shortly. He was on military leave from the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob P. Thomann, live at 4237 Gano avenue. He is survived also by a small daughter, Mary Jean.
