Neil Max Padgham
1929 - 2011

Neil Max Padgham, 82 yrs, of Ida, passed away March 16, 2011 at 10:31 AM. Neil was born in Lansing, MI, to the late William and Margaret Padgham. He was working with General Telephone Company until being drafted into the Army from 1950-1952. He was stationed in Germany.

On September 19, 1953, he married Sandra Merece Eberly, and lived in Grand Ledge, MI, until 1968, when he and his family moved to Ida where he was an Installation Supervisor for GTE. Neil retired in 1983, after 37 years with the company. He and Sandra loved to travel and spend some winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Friends may gather Friday, March 18th, from 1-9 PM, at Capaul Funeral Home, 8216 Ida-West Rd, Ida. Funeral services to celebrate Neil's life will be Saturday, March 19th, at 2:30 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Roy Southerland will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, in Petersburg, MI, under the auspices of Lynn C. Weeman American Legion Post 514.

Neil was very proud of his family, and is survived by his wife of 57 1/2 years, Sandra, four daughters, Shalene (John) Williams, Ronda (Tom) Skittenhelm, Cheryl (Dave) Spaulding, and Kristin (Mike) Bay. He had ten grandchildren, Jackie, Amy, Dallas, Ryan, Jordan, Michael Neil, Michael Dean, Shelby, Kelsey, and Kendra. Also surviving are two sisters, Neta Smith and Helen (Dale) Benjamin.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Margaret Padgham; brother-in-laws, Raymond Ryan, Kerwin Smith, and son-in-law, John R. Williams.

Donations may be made to Ida United Methodist Church or Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
