She was born on March 31, 1934, to Arthur J. and Elizabeth S. (Hill) Hendrickson in Eveleth. Elizabeth was a graduate of Eveleth High School. On May 23, 1953, she was united in marriage to Milo A. Bergum. Elizabeth was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church and participated in the church circles. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and playing the piano.
She is survived by her husband, Milo; sons, Dr. Russell (Catherine) Bergum of Virginia, Glenn (Traci) Bergum of St. Anthony, Minn.; daughter, Donna (Rev. Chris) Miller of Loganville, Wis.; grandchildren, Toby and Annika Bergum, Sylvie and Adrian McBride-Bergum, Marcus (Amber), Joel (Beth) and Elisa Miller; great grandchildren, Logan, Landen and Emery Pearl; brothers, Dave (Phyllis) Hendrickson of Virginia, Gus (Peggy) Hendrickson of Grand Rapids; sister, Terri (Jack) Matala of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Jean Bergum; brother, Arthur Dean Hendrickson; and parents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth, with Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Eveleth Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer Foundation or United in Christ Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
