Funeral services of Louis L. Eckermann, 46, Eola stock farmer and World War I Veteran, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday from the Eola Lutheran Church with the Rev. J. W. Behnken, Jr., officiating, assisted by the Rev. Victor Buvinghausen, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in the Eola Cemetery.

Mr. Eckermann died Thursday at the home of a sister, Mrs. J.C. McDonald, 1316 S. Chadbourne, San Angelo, following a four-month illness.

Death was attributed to cancer of the lings, which was the result of an injury received in a car accident two years ago. Mr. Eckermann was dismissed from the Veterans’ Hospital, Kerrville, last week, having been there two months and also he had spent several months in Santa Rosa Hospital, San Antonio.

The body will like in state at the home near Eola until time of the funeral services.

Survivors include the widow, three sons, Chester, in the Army Air Corps at Gardner Field., Calif.; Melvin, and Weldon; one daughter, Mrs. A. S. Huckaby; the mother, Mrs. L. E. Eckermann, both of San Angelo; four brothers, A. H., San Angelo; O. E., Eola; H. F., Wall, and H. A., San Angelo; four sisters, Mrs. Albert W. Wohlschiess, Miles; Mrs. Henry Wiesepape, Ballinger; and Mrs. J. C. McDonald.

Members of the James J. Goodfellow Post of the American Legion will serve as active pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers include Will Schimann, Tommy Denton, Dan Denton, Martin Schulz, Albert Schulz, D. C. Goetz, R. V. Fuessel, Ernest Geach, Paul Gray, Claude Brown, William Miller, Marcellus Weston, G. F. Stovall, Alen Birdwell, N. Dow Chapman, Gordon Williams, J. S. Powell, John Powell, Fred Henson, Burton Henson, A. T. Lollar, Leslie Roach, Charles Straach, Reimer Straach, Barney Lee, Sam Farmer, Oscar Frink, C. R. Hallmark, O. W. Johnson, Henry Goetz, A. J. Gordon and Dr. J. J. Schiller.
