A.W. BERGER DIES AT 90 IN HOSPITAL
August W. Berger, 90, of Route 1, Brownsville, died early today at Waupun Memorial Hospital where he was a patient for several days.
Born in the Town of St. Marie, Green Lake County on Jan. 18, 1880, he was the son of Paul and Pauline Nest Berger. He married Minnie Wiese on Sept. 8, 1908, at Oakfield.
They resided on the present farm in rural Brownville all their married life. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield.
Mr. Berger is survived by one son, Norbert of Route 1, Brownsville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Berger of Princeton; and two sisters, Mrs. William Yanke of Berlin and Mrs. Anton Gregor of Fond du Lac.
His wife preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1953, and also one daughter, one son, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield, with Pastor Howard Kaiser officiating. Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Oakfield, and at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

Funeral services for August Berger of Oakfield, who died Wednesday, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield. Pastor Howard Kaiser officiated and burial was in Avoca Cemetery.
Vocal selections were offered by the church choir and Miss Jane Brink was the organist.
Pallbearers were Keith Binning, Vernon and Harley Baehler , Harvey Wiese, Erwin Berger and Orlo Weinkauf.
