Willard L. Williams, 87, of the 3800 block of Belle Haven St., departed this life to eternal rest with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ May 3, 2002 in Chesapeake. He was born April 1, 1915 in Norfolk County to the late Edison and Jessie Williams and retired from Ford Motor Company after more than 28 years of service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Merle Louise Roberts Williams; a son, Robert Douglas Williams and wife Marie of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Rose Carol Williams and Bonnie Q. Williams; four grandchildren, Teresa Anderson and husband Ed, Marvette Coates and husband Bryan, Mimi Ryan and husband Pete, and Eva Skeels and husband Mike; eight great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, W. Neal Williams and Marvin Williams.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. L. Wayne Sawyer. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk chapel, today from 4 to 5 p.m. and at the residence all other times.
