F. Ray George age 62 of Angleton, Texas, formerly of Johnson County, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011.
He was born December 6, 1948, in Floyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Grant George and Estelle Ward Burga.
Ray was in the U.S. Navy and retried from Gulf Chemical, Freeport, Texas, after 32 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Lowe.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy George, two step-daughters, Suzanne Crawley and Karen (Steve) Carroll both from Angleton, Texas, one step-son, Gene and Rita Crawley from Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren, Stevie and Ryan Carroll and Elizabeth Crawley all from Angleton, Texas, step-father, Bill Burga, Hager Hill, Kentucky, sisters, twin Kay Grosnickle of Springboro, Ohio, Clara and Dean Howard of Jamestown, Ohio, brothers, Billy and Anna Mae George of Laura, Ohio, Roger and Ramona George of Covington, Ohio, Jimmy and Karen George of Brazoria, Texas, David and Rhonda George of Bradford, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Jones–Preston Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Kentucky.
