Hazel May Sohn, 91, St. Clair, departed this life Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in St. Clair.

Mrs. Sohn was born Nov. 16, 1919, in Pocahontas, Ark., the daughter of Samuel F. Cantrell and wife Annie, nee Benton.

On Jan. 29, 1937, she was united in marriage to George Edward Sohn and they were blessed to have two children.

Mrs. Sohn is survived by her children, Betty Reed and husband Frank and Bruce Sohn and wife Tina, all of St. Clair; 10 grandchildren, Jerry Reed and wife Kim, Christina Fogg and husband Robert, Issac Sohn and wife Jessica, Jacob Sohn and wife Amy, Rachel Rodman and husband Mark, Mekaela Gross, Sarah Sohn and Mariah Sohn, all of St. Clair, Rebecca Johnson and husband Nick, Union, and Terry Reed and wife Mary, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Grace Bailey, St. Clair; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-, great-great- and great-great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Annie Cantrell; her husband, George Sohn; three brothers, Everett Cantrell and two infant brothers; three sisters, Cora Washburn, Gladys White and Mary Simpson; and one great-grandchild, Kaleb Stone.

Mrs. Sohn was a Christian of the Baptist faith and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church, Sullivan. In recent years she attended Lighthouse Baptist Church, Moselle.

In the 1950s she was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had served as the church secretary for several years. She made caring for her home and family her career in life and she never tired of her job.

Mrs. Sohn loved to spend time in her garden and enjoyed raising beautiful flowers. Doing embroidery and quilting were other favorite pastimes.

Above all else keeping up with the lives of her family and many grandchildren was her favorite hobby.

She was happiest when she was spending time with her family and many wonderful memories have been created.

Interment was in Prospect Cemetery, Lonedell.
