Our husband, father, and grandfather, James David Harms, passed away on March 16, 2011 at his home.

Born October 6, 1923 in Bellevue, Iowa to Arthur Herman and May Cook Harms. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict, where he was held as a POW. He was also a recipient of a Purple Heart.

Married LaDawn Porter on October 1, 1974 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jim was a successful general contractor in the California Bay Area for many years. He was a very talented wood carver and enjoyed old cars.

He is survived by his wife LaDawn, seven children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Logan City Cemetery, 1200 East 900 North, Logan, Utah. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah.
