Rev. Thomas Harold Pulliam, Sr. age 81, of 7 Oxford Place, Garden Lakes, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010.

Rev. Pulliam was born in Charlton County, Georgia on October 4, 1929, the son of the late William Thomas Pulliam and Nancy Ethel O'Quinn Pulliam. His name was legally changed from William Thomas Pulliam, Jr. after his parents' divorce.*

Rev. Pulliam became a Southern Baptist minister at the age of 15 and pastored churches in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Rev. Pulliam graduated from Hilliard, Fla. High School, as well as Brewton Parker Junior College (now a college). Rev. Pulliam graduated from John B. Stetson University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Clinical Pastoral Education School in Milledgeville, Georgia. From Milledgeville, Rev. Pulliam moved to Rome in 1977 to work as Chaplain/Caseworker at Northwest Regional Hospital. He retired from the Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital in Rome in 1998. Rev. Pulliam was a very active member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Donna Sue Bridges Floyd Pulliam, one daughter, Grace Elizabeth Pulliam Craddock, two sons, Thomas H. Pulliam, Jr. and Glenn D. Pulliam; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Rev. Dallas E. Pulliam, of Port St. Lucie, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He is also survived by three step sons, Laurence, David, and Phillip Bridges; one step daughter, Sherri Mobley Smith; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.*

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday Dec. 11th at Garden Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Richard Kremer and Dr. Floyd Roebuck, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 Honor Guard has charge of graveside rites.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at Garden Lakes Baptist Church at 9:30 AM Saturday, Al Bridges, Pat Coffey, Rev. Wayne Clemons, Rev. Jim Shouse, Malcolm McDonald, and Willie Nelson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Newton Whatley Sunday School Class.
