Mr. Prejean, a resident of Lawtell, La., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Opelousas General Health System.
Raymond owned and operated A-1 Office Machines, was a member of the VFW, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked for 43 years for Union Pacific Railroad. While in the service he served in the battles and campaigns of Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and he received the following decorations and citations, Eameto Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Occupation Medal.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Richard Prejean, of Lawtell, La., his son, Charles Kirk Prejean and wife, Laurie Huber Prejean, of Pearl River, La.; his daughters, Phyllis Prejean Castille of Lawtell, La.; Catherine Prejean Stanford and husband, Ira "Bo" Stanford, Jr., of Opelousas, La. and his brother, Joseph Ursin Prejean, Jr. of Lawtell, La. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin and Alex Stanford; Kimberly Castille; Eric Prejean and wife, Sable and Kevin Prejean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ursin and Emma Boudreaux Prejean; his brother, Leo Prejean; his sisters, Minnie Lyons, Ludie Soileau, Bessie Grosz, Audrey Guilbeaux and Essie Prejean.

Pallbearers will be the 5 grandsons and son-in-law.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
