Mrs. Ruby Lee Arnett, 74, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 4:15 A.M., Sunday, July 19, 2009 at her residence.
She was born October 25, 1934 in Todd County, KY to the late Ora Lee Gipson and Mary Frederick Gipson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Truman "Grandad" Arnett; one son, Jimmy Tichenor; one daughter, Barbara Gail Tichenor; and two brothers, Frank Gipson and Paul Gipson.
Mrs. Arnett was retired from Speed Queen and also the co-owner of Lazy Eight Trucking with her late husband "Grandad". She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as bowling.
She is survived by five daughters; Beth Royal and Becky (Jerry) Lloyd both of Ilsley, KY, Donna (Lloyd) Arnold, Kathy Tichenor, and Wanda Tichenor all of Madisonville; two sons, Walter Thomas (Wanda) Arnett and Douglas (Crystal) Tichenor both of Madisonville; one brother, Jewell (Imogene) Gipson of Hanson, KY; thirty grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Pallbearers will be Jason Arnold, Chris Oglesby, Timmy Oglesby, Jeremy Oglesby, Derrick Tichenor, and Wesley Tichenor. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Arnold and Kameron Peyton.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and after 8:00 A.M. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral Home.
