Billy was born November 21, 1935 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of the late Cecil and Goldie Fay (Lairmaore) Fletcher.
He was united in marriage with Marie Sims on October 20, 1990 and she survives.
He served in the Army durng the Korean War. He worked as a mechanic, pipe fitter, welder and truck driver most of his life. He also worked at KMC Manufacturing for five years.
Survivors include sisters, Opal Spencer, Viola Wilson, Ester Longcrier, brother, Earl Fletcher, children Buddy (Sue) Fletcher, Cynthia (Joe) Fletcher and Terry (Mark) Thompson, grandchildren, JC Darby, Aaron Fletcher, Buddy Fletcher Jr., Ryan Fletcher Fulmer, Shaylene, Havalah, Des'ree, Tiffaney, one great-granddaughter. step-son, David (Sandy) Sims, step-grandchildren, Whitney Sims, Samantha Johnson, Sara, Nathan, Mitchell Sims, four step-great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Three brothers and one sister preceeded him in death.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 18, 1-2PM at the Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, with Military Honors following at Memorial Park Cemetary.
In liew of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his wife.
